From the President: Forsyth Park
This Friday, March 28, the City of Savannah will be releasing a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Friends of Forsyth Park concerning the future of the park. It will be accompanied by a survey for residents to offer comments or concerns. Members of the DNA Board have met with the City and Friends of Forsyth Park to review the MOU and offered many edits to this final version. Once the link for the MOU and survey is available, we will send it to you and encourage your review and comment.
Please look for the email blast with the link later this week.
DNA Board Positions
Reminder that this Thursday, March 27, at 5:30 pm the Board will be hosting a learning session at Asher + Rye at Whitaker St and W Jones St. For those of you interested in becoming more active with your DNA, either on the Board or through a committee, we encourage you to join us. Board members will be there to answer any questions and for you to learn more about how you can help if not now than in the future.
The list of board positions can be found here along with when they are up for election.
Monthly Meeting
A reminder that our next meeting is tomorrow, March 25 beginning with a social period at 5:30. The presentation will begin at 6 pm. We will be meeting at the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St.
We will have members of the Police HOPE Team that work with homeless and vagrant concerns in our community. We will also have the management from the Inner-City Night Shelter to discuss their expansion plans, which will double the number of overnight guests they can handle. Many residents have expressed concerns about an increase in vagrancy because of this expansion. We hope to have a good discussion about these issues.
