President's Message - February 27, 2024

From the President:

I want to thank all of you who attended the membership meeting last week.  We had an excellent turnout and an interesting presentation by the Chatham County Authority on the Homeless and the Savannah Police Department.  For those of you who were unable to attend the meeting, you can view it on our website here.

Early voting is now open through March 8 for the Presidential Primary.  You can vote at the Civic Center on West Liberty St as well as the Board of Elections Annex on Eisenhower Ave.  Election Day is March 12.  The primary for local positions, County Commissioner, Sheriff, and District Attorney will be held in May.

As a reminder, the DNA will have a float in this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade.  If you are interested in either walking with us or riding on the float, please sign up below or on the DNA website.  You do not have to ride or walk the entire route.  Bring your children or grandchildren and let's have some fun. If you have questions, contact us at info@savannahdna.org.

Finally, the Victorian Neighborhood Association along with the Cuyler-Brownsville and Thomas Square neighborhoods are conducting a survey to gauge resident's thoughts on the appropriateness of small hotels in neighborhoods immediately south of downtown. These organizations are asking that the hotel overlay be extended to their areas as well.  If you are interested in responding to this survey, which is open to everyone, you can do so here.

David McDonald
