SE Historic District 

LARCENY, BICYCLE; 200422058 700 blk Abercorn St. (Beat 24). 04/13/2020 15:00 – 04/22/2020 15:45 hrs.: The complainant reported that she discovered her rental property open with several items missing.  Warrants Issued for Arrest.

LARCENY, BICYCLE; 200422012 600 blk Price St. (Beat 24). 04/21/2020 22:00 – 04/22/2020 07:00 hrs.: The complainant reported his neighbor told him someone stole two of his bicycles. He advised he’s been having an issue with someone coming on his porch damaging the seat of the bicycle and attempting to take it.

LARCENY, ENTERING AUTO; 200430054 500 blk Habersham St. (Beat 24). 04/30/2020 13:00 hrs.: The complainant advised he was making a delivery when he left the truck open and someone took a case of wine from the back of the truck.

LARCENY, BICYCLE; 200430072 500 blk E Gwinnett St. (Beat 24). 04/21/2020 22:00 – 04/22/2020 10:00 hrs.: The complainant advised she found a top portion of the fence had been broken off and her bicycle missing.

LARCENY, ENTERING AUTO; 200503069 400 blk E Huntingdon St. (Beat 24). 05/03/2020 21:30 – 21:35 hrs.: Report is not complete.

LARCENY, ENTERING AUTO; 200509019 600 blk Abercorn St. (Beat 24). 05/09/2020 08:25 hrs.: The complainant advised someone stole two tool boxes from the bed of his truck.

AUTO THEFT; 200510045 700 Blk Drayton St. (Beat 24). 05/09/2020 23:00 – 23:45 hrs.: The complainant advised he went to Forsyth Park to walk around. He parked his vehicle in the parking lot on the eastside of the park and left his key in the ignition of the vehicle. When he returned about 45 minutes later, his vehicle was gone.

 Central Historic District               

LARCENY, ENTERING AUTO; 200427042 00 blk E Liberty St. (Beat 25). 04/27/2020 09:00 – 12:20 hrs.: The complainant reported he parked his vehicle, and when he returned someone had entered it. He reported his company cell phone and tablet were stolen from the vehicle. He advised the vehicle was unlocked.

LARCENY, BICYCLE; 200501061 200 blk Bull St. (Beat 25). 04/30/2020 16:00 – 05/01/2020 15:00 hrs.: The complainant advised she had taken her bicycle to have her rear tire repaired, but they weren’t open when she arrived, so she chained the bicycle to a tree in front of the business. When she came back the next day when the shop was open, she noticed her bicycle was gone. She spoke with the employees and they stated they did not remove the bicycle and when they arrived to the shop, they didn’t see the bicycle.

LARCENY, BICYCLE; 200506064 200 blk E Taylor St. (Beat 25). 05/05/2020 20:30 – 05/06/2020 13:00 hrs.: The complainant advised she had her bicycle locked to a sign in front of their building with a wire lock. The next morning she noticed her bicycle was missing and the lock has been cut. There were no cameras observed in the area.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT; 200508083 300 blk Bull St. (Beat 25). 05/08/2020 17:30 hrs.: The victim advised her and her live in boyfriend got into an argument. She advised he slapped her twice in the face before trying to kiss her neck. He then began to strangle her with one hand, and she had trouble breathing. While strangling her, he then tried to kiss her neck again, when a witness came around from the bush. He slapped her again and then walked off. Suspect Arrested.

LARCENY, BICYCLE; 200513040 200 blk E Perry St. (Beat 25). 05/12/2020 21:00 – 05/13/2020 10:50 hrs.: An employee reported seeing a black male in a camo hat and purple shirt riding one of the Perry Lane Hotel bicycles. Prior to this call, officers had stopped the suspect and field interviewed him in reference to a mail theft and released him. The officers were not aware the bicycle was stolen when they stopped him.

LARCENY, FROM BUILDING; 200513051 300 blk E Taylor St. (Beat 25). 05/10/2020 14:00 – 05/11/2020 17:00 hrs.: The complainant reported her friend was at her residence. She advised the suspect had paid her $200 for driving her around to run errands. According to the reporting party she had placed the money along with her other money in her purse and hung it up in her living room.

LARCENY, SHOPLIFTING; 200514015 200 blk Drayton St. (Parker’s – Beat 25). 05/14/2020 05:00 hrs.: The business reported a white male wearing a white long sleeve shirt and shorts and a white female wearing a long sleeve shirt came into the store and stole beer. They advised they left the store without paying and got into a white van with a ladder rack.

LARCENY, FROM MAILS; 200519058 Drayton St. and Jones St. (Beat 25). 05/19/2020 12:40 hrs.: The reporting party advised that he had video of a suspect taking a package off his porch.

SW Historic District

BURGLARY, COMMERCIAL; 200421082 700 blk Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (Beat 25). 04/21/2020 20:45 hrs.: The complainant advised that he arrived the building and witnessed a black female and light skinned black male exit the rear of the building carrying two boxes.   According to the reporting party the suspects gave him a key when he spoke to them and then left the scene.  The reporting party stated he did not know either of the individuals, nor how they got a key. 

LARCENY, FROM YARD; 200421024 100 blk W Huntingdon St. (Beat 25). 04/21/2020 02:00 hrs.: The complainant reported she heard talking on her porch and a car running on the side of her house. When she came out the next morning, her floral porch swing cushion and two matching chair cushions were missing from her front porch. She advised she had a similar theft of cushions about a year ago and did not report it.

LARCENY, ENTERING AUTO; 200428018 00 blk Tattnall St. (Beat 25). 04/27/2020 22:00 – 04/28/2020 07:00 hrs.: The complainant reported her vehicle had been broken into overnight. She advised the back plastic piece in the soft top of her vehicle and the vehicle was also left unlocked with the keys in the vehicle. She reported her glovebox was entered and the contents were all over the vehicle. Her shoes and Adderall medication were missing from the vehicle.

LARCENY, SHOPLIFTING; 200428058 600 blk Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. (Family Dollar – Beat 25). 04/28/2020 13:40 hrs.: The business reported the suspect stole two bags of candy. The suspect also filled out an employment application for the store and filled it out with the name Lavedia Varner. The theft was caught on the stores cameras system.

LARCENY, ENTERING AUTO; 200503017 300 blk Tattnall St. (Beat 25). 05/02/2020 21:00 – 05/03/2020 09:20 hrs.: The complainant advised someone broke her rear window on his truck and stole his backpack blower from his vehicle. He advised nothing else was missing from his vehicle. He does not have cameras and did not wish to have his vehicle processed.

LARCENY, ENTERING AUTO; 200505085 600 blk Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. (Beat 25). 05/05/2020 16:20 – 16:28 hrs.: The complainant advised his license plate was stolen from her vehicle while she was in Family Dollar. She advised the tag was registered to her ex-boyfriend, who she bought the vehicle from.

LARCENY, ENTERING AUTO; 200513037 100 blk W Gordon St. (Beat 25). 05/12/2020  17:00 – 05/13/2020 11:35 hrs.: The complainant reported someone had entered his vehicle and took three money orders and two ball caps from it. There is no mention if the vehicle was locked or not, or any damage to the vehicle in the report.

NW Historic District 

BURGLARY, COMMERCIAL; 200426041 200 blk W Broughton St. (Maple Street Biscuit Company – Beat 26). 04/26/2020 05:45 – 07:00 hrs.: The business reported they received an alarm notification around 0545 hrs. and he arrived at 0700 hrs. There was no damages to the property. They advised the back door in the lane was left unlocked and open by the construction company. The business reported a case of sausage and a case of bacon were missing from the business.

LARCENY, SHOPLIFTING; 200427048 300 W Broughton St. (Walgreens – Beat 26). 04/27/2020 14:26 hrs.: The business reported a black male stealing a case of beer.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY; 200507004 100 blk W Broughton St. (Beat 26). 05/07/2020 00:53 hrs.: Officers were dispatched to a disorderly call, where a female was heard yelling for help. As they approached they were flagged down by the victim, who had blood dripping down her face from the top of her head. When they were able to get her to explain what happened, she stated she confronted her boyfriend about messaging other female and he began hitting her with a closed fist on top of her head. Officers asked the suspect what happened and he advised he was laying down on his stomach when she came up and started attacking him, and he had scratches on his stomach. When officers asked how he got scratches on his stomach when he was laying on it, he refused to speak any longer.  Suspect Arrested.

LARCENY, SHOPLIFTING; 200509021 100 blk Bull St. (CVS – Beat 26). 05/09/2020 09:05 hrs.: The business reported a black male wearing a gray sweatshirt, and khaki pants took an 18 pack of Budweiser beer from the store. Officers were able to identify the suspect as he was walking down the street matching the description.  Suspect Arrested.

LARCENY, SHOPLIFTING; 200511017 100 blk Bull St. (CVS – Beat 26). 05/11/2020 08:29 hrs.: The business reported a black male with glasses and face tattoos stole a case of beer and left the store. 

NE Historic District

LARCENY, SHOPLIFTING; 200427045 00 blk E Broughton St. (The Copper Closet – Beat 26). 04/27/2020 13:14 – 13:40 hrs.: The business reported two black males and one black female came into the store and stole about 30 items of clothing from the business.

LARCENY, BICYCLE; 200428047  Bull St/E Factors Walk. (Beat 26). 04/26/2020 21:00 – 04/27/2020 08:00 hrs.: The complainant advised his bicycle was stolen while he was sleeping in East Factors Walk and Bull St. ramp. He advised he had been looking for it since, he woke up and was his reason for the delay in reporting.

BURGLARY, COMMERCIAL; 200430069 00 blk Habersham St. (Savannah Bike Tours – Beat 26). 04/29/2020 21:00 -04/30/2020 12:30 hrs.: The business reported the front door was broken. When they arrived at the business and opened the door, they observed the inside lock and frame to have been broke inside. They reported having a bicycle stolen from the business. A request for forensics to process the scene through Records.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY; 200510087 100 blk E River St. (Beat 26). 05/10/2020 23:20 hrs.: Officers were dispatched to a fight in progress across from Huey’s on the pavilion. Officers spoke with a group of homeless individuals gathered under the pavilion and asked them what was going on, but they all responded with nothing happened and they were “chilling”. They noticed blood and trail, which ended in front of Savannah’s Candy Kitchen. The complainant advised a white male was kicked in the ribs multiple times and was struck in the head by a metal pipe. She advised the suspect was a white male in his 50-60’s and had a silver metal pipe, and the victim walked off towards the Candy Kitchen.

LARCENY, FROM MAIL; 200513031 E Broughton Ln/Houston St. (Beat 26). 05/13/2020 11:00 hrs.: The complainant advised while he was painting his porch, he saw a black male on a blue and orange bike take an Amazon package off of his neighbor’s porch. He attempted to stop the male, but he continued to ride off. Officers located a suspect matching the description, but did not have enough evidence to charge him, and he was released. A neighbor had some video of the suspect.

RAPE, STRONGARM; 200517020 Drayton St. (Beat 26). 05/14/2020 03:47 hrs.: The victim reported that she was out with an “on-again off-again acquaintance” and reported that after they were making out the suspect began having intercourse with her without her consent.

LARCENY, FROM YARDS; 200520027 E Congress St./Drayton St. (Beat 26). 05/19/2020 15:00 hrs.: The reporting party advised that two traffic control signs on tripods were stolen from the location.

NW Historic District

LARCENY, BICYCLE; 200511050 300 blk W St. Julian St. (Beat 27). 05/08/2020 11:15 hrs.: The complainant manages the Charleston Shoe Company and advised their tricycle was missing. The lock and tricycle were both missing from under the awning where it was parked.

LARCENY, SHOPLIFTING; 200513068 300 blk W Congress St. (Savannah Cigars – Beat 27). 05/10/2020 20:50 hrs.: The business reported a group of 4 young persons (2 males and 2 females) came in the store and stole an item while he was helping another customer.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY; 200518131 Montgomery St./W St. Julian St. (Beat 27). 05/18/2020 22:39 hrs.: Witnesses advised that the two parties got into a fight which resulted in a severe laceration to the cheek and ear of one of the parties.  The injured individual became disorderly with police and threatened both the suspect and the police.  Both Parties were Arrested.
