Savannah Downtown Neighborhood Association
The SCMPD will be caravanning throughout Savannah's downtown neighborhoods and will join the Landmark District Neighbors at a Block party on Tuesday, August 5th between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. on the 100 Block of East Jones Street, refreshments will be provided at 107 East Jones Street. Stop by, talk to your neighbors, spend time with officers and let's show the community our support for the fight against crime. (As this will be an outdoor event, don't forget your umbrella if it rains!)
You can also show your support of this event by leaving your porch/courtyard lights on during the evening of August 5. It’s something every resident of the Landmark District can do to discourage crime not just on National Night Out but every night.
The introduction of National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, in 1984 began an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
We are encouraging all residents of the Landmark District to join the over 37.8 million neighbors across 16,124 communities in celebration of the 31st annual National Night Out scheduled for Tuesday August 5, 2014.
